KEY PAINS

Information Explosion on Social Media

Nowadays, everyone have many social media accounts. Often, there’re too much information out there and you have too little time to check everything out. And switching between so many social apps can be slow and painful. According to our research, there’re two main key pains for people who have too many social media accounts.

Efficiency

Users need an efficient way for the user to get the information from multiple social media apps.

Personalization

Users need a platform which integrates data across social media and personalizes it for the user.

SOLUTION

Design for Better Social Media Experience

Our main goal is to get the users posts that he or she can relate to the most and help them not spend time scrolling through all the uninteresting posts out there. The user should only receive posts based on what his or her interests are, and although Facebook, Twitter and Instagram try to implement this, they are not doing it well enough. This is evident from the fact that we have to browse a lot to get meaningful posts that we can relate to.
User Case 1 - 100 notifications every minute

Jack keeps up with all friends through social media – Facebook, Twitter & Instagram. He has many friends – 100 notifications every minute.
With AppDate, Jack can easily get to notifications that interests him the most, whenever he has a minute to spare.

User Case 2 - Bill has 5 mins to kill

Bill has 5 mins of his schedule to kill. He has a lot of work to do and many deadlines, but for 5 mins he wants to be purely positively entertained.
 He opens Facebook: Nothing interesting. Twitter: Meh. Instagram : His ex looks good, with her new boyfriend.
